CETEC appointed to develop National Legionella Control Guidelines

Thursday 5 June, 2014

CETEC was recently appointed by the Federal Government to provide guidance to the National Environmental Health Standing Committee (enHealth) for the development of national guidance - Legionella control in potable water distribution systems in health and aged care facilities

CETEC is leading the project with partners, Norman Disney and Young and Dr Paul Bartley as the other key contributors providing hydraulic engineering and clinical/health risks of Legionella expertise respectively.  The team at CETEC are very much looking forward to our role in developing this national Legionella control document for Australian healthcare facilities, including hospitals, aged care, and mental health.

CETEC was appointed to the Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) by the Queensland Government in June 2013 and along with the other members including Queensland Health and AECOM, the CETEC team have been working on the development of these guidelines over the last four months. - See more at: http://www.cetec.com.au/news/latest-updates/prelim-guidelines-water.html#sthash.kmVfIUzZ.dpuf

CETEC were also members of the small Technical Advisory Panel for Queensland Health, which developed the Guidelines for Managing Microbial Water Quality in Healthcare Facilities in 2013.
