Overseas Update - India / Brazil / Amsterdam / Singapore

In the last two months, Dr Vyt Garnys has attended trade missions to both India and Brazil.  He presented on the topic of Energy and Indoor Environment Quality – Relative Cost Benefits and International Benchmarking at the well attended International Green Buiding Congress in Hyderabad.

Dr Garnys also participated in the International Standards (ISO) Indoor Air committee meetings in Amsterdam.  The ISO Indoor Air sub-committees address building and automotive testing and performance requirements.  There was broad international representation from the relevant national bodies at the meetings.  The attendance of Dr Garnys was endorsed by Standards Australia in his role as chair of their Indoor Air Committee.

Highlights from Brazil included meetings with the Rio 2016 Olympic Organising Committee, the Associação Brasileira de Facilities (Facilities Management Association of Brazil in Sao Paulo) and the key industry federations in Rio and Sao Paulo.  The Victorian State Government trade mission to Brazil was extremely well structured and the presence of Australian-Brazilian experts and Trade and High Commissioners was influential in achieving the objective of meeting high level contacts.
