Dr Vyt Garnys attended the 4th International Conference on Building Energy and Environment (COBEE) at RMIT University Melbourne this week along with more than other 200 delegates.
There was a strong focus on Advanced Modelling & CFD, Indoor Air Quality & Occupant Health, Building Energy, Urban Buildings & Environment, Heat Exchange, Ventilation and Thermal Comfort.
This conference also had a major focus on research in China with large developments in assessing the extent of both outdoor and indoor air quality, energy, modelling, sensors, controls and measurement devices. Advances in Europe, Japan and North America were presented at the plenaries and in some study presentations.
Important networks were established and renewed. Our highlights included international experts Professor Shin-Ichi Tanabe (Waseda University) who led the Japanese researchers and outlined the strong move to sustainable housing after the Fukushima Tsunami and Professor Bert Blocken (Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands) who presented on progress with regional air movement modelling.
